This is a 12 by 1 3/4 inch Walnut Platter that has concentric texturing on the whole rim, however, still showing the grain of the Walnut. The bowl was bleached to produce this outstanding contrast. A process was used to darken the walnut on the front of the platter and the back was left untouched to show the natural color of the Walnut. Pyrography was used on the back of the platter to further enhance it. Several coats of Satin Lacquer Finish were applied to protect the wood and embellishments. Whether displayed on a stand or hanging on a wall, definitely a conversation piece.
