Figured Walnut Bowl with a Spalted Maple Lid and a Pyrographed Celtic Knot.

A unique bowl with a lid. The bottom is made from a beautiful piece of highly figured walnut and the top is made from a piece of spalted maple. This box measures 9 inches in diameter by 5 inches tall. A celtic knot was designed and hand burned on the lid which fits in a recess on the bowl. Multiple coats of lacquer were applied to protect the wood and the embellishments. The bottom of the bowl is signed by me and also the type of wood used. This is definitely a conversation piece whether displayed on its own or a collection.

Oak Burl Wood Sculpture with Carving/Texturing and Embellishments

A beautiful piece of Oak Burl was used for this exceptional piece. The natural shape of the kept and enhanced with different textures, carvings and several different colored dyes were applied. A gilt cream was also applied to the outside rim carving to highlight the darker green color underneath. The center and back of the burl were left in their natural color to show the beauty of the wood. Multiple coats of lacquer were applied to preserve the wood and the different embellishments. This piece will showcase very well and make a conversation piece whether displayed on a horizontal surface or hanging on a wall as a wall sculpture.

Textured Cherry Vase with Iridescent Paints and Finial

This is a beautiful vase made from Cherry wood and was hollowed out to approximately 1/4″ wall thickness. This vase measures 5 inches in diameter by 11 inches tall. After the vase was turned, shaped and sanded both inside and outside, the outside was textured and painted with black lacquer. The colored portion of the vase was textured using pyrography method and iridescent paints were applied to make this texturing pop. A delicate finial, which is removable, was added to further enhance the beauty of this piece. Multiple coats of lacquer were applied to protect the wood and the paints. Whether displayed at home or given as a gift for a wedding, friend or a house warming, this vase will definitely make a statement.

This is a Miniature Decorative Birdhouse and the approximate size is 2 inches diameter by 5 inches tall. Both the upper and lower pieces are hollowed out to make them lighter. The perch and a miniature bird are added to further enhance the overall look. Also, several coats of Gloss Lacquer Finish are applied to protect the wood and embellishments. Whether displayed on their own, as shown in the photo, or in a grouping, these unique birdhouses are definitely a conversation piece. These miniature birdhouses will make a very unique gift for that special friend or relative.
